Fano Pau finished with three hits and three RBIs to power Central Valley (3-0, 3-0 Greater Spokane League) past Lewis and Clark (2-1, 2-1) 5-4 at CV. Staked to a five-run lead after two innings, CV starter Scott Simon shut down the Tiger bats, striking out five while allowing just one run in six innings.

In other GSL games, John Rapose threw a two-hit shutout to earn the win on the mound while also contributing with his bat, collecting two doubles, a single and four RBIs for University (3-0, 3-0), which cruised to a 10-0 victory over Ferris (0-3, 0-3) at U-Hi. … Seth Wolfe had a pair of hits and two RBIs and Coty McLeod scored a pair of runs as North Central (2-1, 2-1) finished off visiting Shadle Park (0-3, 0-3) 10-0 in five innings. … Kelly Fitzpatrick threw six shutout innings with six strikeouts and the Mt. Spokane (3-0, 3-0) bats delivered the win with seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to knock off Gonzaga Prep (0-3, 0-3) at Mt. Spokane. Softball

Katie Begdon was the first Mead Panther to reach base against Ferris (1-3, 1-3) pitcher Erika Santa Rosa, but after Begdon reached on an error with two outs in the fourth inning, the Panthers (4-0, 4-0) pounced for six runs in the frame, giving them a 6-1 Greater Spokane League win Tuesday at Mead.

In other GSL games, Portia Schuller had three hits, four RBIs and three runs scored as Lewis and Clark (1-3, 1-3) snapped a 3-3 tie with seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to beat visiting Mt. Spokane (2-2, 2-2) 10-3. … University (4-0, 4-0) erased a 3-1 deficit by scoring 10 unanswered runs and Devynne Johnson pitched four innings to earn the 11-3 win over host North Central (0-4, 0-4). … Mackenzie Via tallied a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to snap a 1-1 tie and lift Gonzaga Prep (3-1, 3-1) to a 4-1 victory over host Rogers (1-1, 1-1). Julie Rambo added two hits for the Bullpups. … Shadle Park (1-3, 1-3) upended Central Valley (2-1, 2-1) 5-4 at Shadle. No other stats were available.

Boys soccer

Xavier Day scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to lift Cheney (3-1, 3-0 Great Northern) over Deer Park (2-1, 2-1) 3-2 in overtime in Cheney. Day, who also assisted a goal in the second half, punched home the game-winner with less than a minute remaining in the extra period. … Petra Lee scored a pair of second-half goals to give Medical Lake (3-0, 3-0) a 2-0 win over visiting Clarkston (2-2, 1-2). … Michael Konradi’s goal in the 42nd minute gave West Valley (1-2, 1-2) a two-goal cushion it would not relinquish as the visiting Eagles held on to beat Riverside (0-5, 0-3) 2-1.

Girls golf

The Lewis and Clark duo of Chessey Thomas and Megan Haase finished first and second with scores of 72 and 76 respectively to lead the Tigers to a win at the Jim Shriver Cup Invitational at Manito Golf and Country Club.

Alongside Thomas, who earned top medalist honors, and Haase, Sydney Kersten earned a top-five finish with a score of 82 as LC tallied 317 strokes to outpace second-place Mead (401) and Gonzaga Prep (419).
