In brief: Women golfers open season

WEST HILLS – The Indian Canyon Ladies 18-Hole golf group will meet Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Indian Canyon Golf Course. The women will play a round at 10 a.m.

Golfers interested in joining the group are invited to attend. Brunch will be in the clubhouse following the game.

Corbin programs fill spring break

CLIFF/CANNON – The Corbin Art Center, 507 W. Seventh Ave., will offer a number of camps for children, ages 6 to 11, during spring break.

Creative Adventure Camp will be Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Kids can take a trip to the pyramids, visit a sunken pirate ship and more. Cost is $65 per child.

Myth, Monsters, and More! Camp will give kids the opportunity to explore their curiosity about dragons and learn about the mythical creatures from Harry Potter. The camp will be Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $99 per child.

Junior Sleuth Camp will give kids the chance to join the investigation. The camp is Monday and is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $29 per child.

Kids can make creative clay projects in the Clay Works Camp on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $29 per child.

Prehistoric Camp will let kids explore dracorex, stegoceras, pterodactyls, and more. The camp will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $29 per child.

Kids will find adventure; solve clues and organize a search party at the Treasure Adventure Camp, on April 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $29 per child.

On April 2, kids can express themselves and get inspired with fun, creative projects using clay, paints and more in the Kids Create Camp, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $29 per child.

Students need to bring lunch and dress for a mess.

Resource fair for home buyers

RIVERSIDE – Community Frameworks will hold its third annual Homeownership Resource Fair on Saturday at the Spokane Arena, 720 W. Mallon Ave., in the Champions Room, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fair will feature more than 20 vendors who will provide information to help local home buyers to make informed homeownership decisions, including Avista Utilities, Washington Trust Bank, Hayden Homes, Costco, AmeriSpec Home Inspections and Horizon Credit Union. The event is free and open to the community. Parking is also free. The first 50 entrants will be entered to win door prizes and the first 100 attendees will receive reusable shopping bags.

‘Swing at the Bing’ for music center

RIVERSIDE – On April 8, Holy Names Music Center will host “Swing at the Bing,” at the Bing Crosby Theatre, 901 W. Sprague Ave., at 7 p.m.

The event will include Howard Crosby, performing pieces from The Great American Songbook, and will feature Windsong, with Andrea Dawson, Max Mendez, Carolyn Jess, and Larry Jess.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for complimentary wine tasting by Russell Creek Winery and hors d’oeuvres by Sodexo.

Swing at the Bing is free and open to the community, but donations are accepted to support Holy Names Music Center.

Middle Eastern celebration today

EMERSON/GARFIELD – The East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St., will host a Middle Eastern cultural celebration today, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Dancers from the Baharat Dance Company will perform traditional dances from the Middle East and North Africa. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the various cultures of the area.
