Kate and ‘Cake’ plus Sarah

Palin
From Wire Reports

Maybe there will be a crossover episode with Kate Gosselin.

Discovery’s TLC cable network – home to the likes of Gosselin and “Cake Boss” – has just added former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin to its roster.

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will tell the story of some of the state’s unique features as seen through the eyes of its former governor.

Palin and producer Mark Burnett (“Survivor”) shopped the show to the major broadcast networks, but none bit.

It has an eight-episode commitment on TLC and filming is set to begin this summer. No airdate has been set.

End of the ride?

Bandaged from a fall and looking frail, actor/filmmaker Dennis Hopper was honored Friday with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

The 73-year-old “Easy Rider” star, who is suffering from prostate cancer, said in a court filing in his divorce case this week that he is terminally ill and unable to undergo chemotherapy.

Fat lady’s not singing yet

Placido Domingo says he is still tender following surgery to remove a cancerous polyp from his colon, but he has resumed singing in private and plans to be back on stage shortly.

The 69-year-old Spanish tenor plans to begin rehearsals for “Simon Boccanegra” at Italy’s La Scala in two weeks.
