Arrested Authorities say NFL linebacker Joey Porter was arrested in Bakersfield, Calif., on suspicion of drunken driving and accused of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. The 33-year-old player was confronted by officers in a fast-food parking lot.

Sidelined Head and neck X-rays on Carlos Delfino are negative and the Milwaukee Bucks forward is day to day with neck and jaw soreness a day after being taken from the court on a stretcher. Delfino was hurt late in the first half of Milwaukee’s 87-74 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday night.

It was the third player arrest in his three years as coach.

Scheduled NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin will have arthroscopic surgery on Monday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, but isn’t planning to miss any races. Hamlin injured the knee playing basketball in January and was originally going to wait until after the season for the surgery.
