Wellpinit, 8 other Wash. districts get school grants

OLYMPIA — Wellpinit in among nine school districts getting federal grants to help improve student performance, state officials say.

The grants total about $17 million. Each of the school districts will work with Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn to decide which schools will be helped, and how much money they’ll each get.

The other eight districts getting School Improvement Grants are Seattle, Tacoma, Marysville, Yakima, Sunnyside, Highline, Grandview and Longview.
