CALGARY, Alberta – Peter Kosterman and Del Cowan scored goals 73 seconds apart in the second period Saturday as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Tri-City Americans 4-1 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Hockey League final.

Joel Broda and Tyler Fiddler also scored, while Brandon Kozun added a pair of assists.

Goalie Martin Jones stopped 20 of 21 shots he faced to improve his postseason record to 14-6.

Johnny Lazo scored the lone goal of the game for the Americans, who will host the third and fourth games of the best-of-7 series Tuesday and Wednesday in Kennewick.

Tri-City goalie Drew Owsley stopped 12 of 15 shots before being replaced in net by Alexander Pechurskiy, who made 22 saves in a relief appearance.
