High wind is expected in Eastern Washington and parts of North Idaho today.

Winds between 35 and 40 miles per hour, with gusts more than 50 mph, are predicted after 5 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Exposed mountain ridges could see gusts as high as 80 mph.

“Strong winds may cause damage to property including trees being snapped off,” as well as downed power lines and blowing dust, according to an advisory.

Visibility could be very poor in Othello, Moses Lake and Ritzville.
