Idaho man pleads guilty to burglary

The Spokesman-Review
A 21-year-old Eastport, Idaho, man pleaded guilty to burglary just before his trial was set to begin last month on charges he ransacked and burglarized a Boundary County vacation home. Cory S. Eccles is accused of throwing a 5-pound rock through the window of a vacant cabin on Deep Creek Loop in November and taking several items. Police traced the burglary to Eccles after he attempted to sell a rare Winchester rifle stolen during the crime. Eccles refused a plea deal from the Boundary County Prosecutor’s Office, and a trial was set to begin April 27. He changed his mind and on April 26 pleaded guilty in front of Boundary County Superior Court Judge Benjamin Simpson, who sentenced Eccles to two to five years in prison on the burglary charge.
