Markets prep for season

Area farmers markets are beginning to open for the season.

The Kootenai County Farmers Market comes to life starting Saturday at the corner of Prairie Avenue and U.S. Highway 95 in Hayden. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Wednesday night farmers market is scheduled to start next week in downtown Coeur d’Alene on Fifth Street between Sherman Avenue and Front Street from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Spokane Farmers Market is moving to a new location this year: Fifth Avenue between Division and Browne streets. The first Saturday market is set for May 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The South Perry Farmers Market is also getting a new home, at The Shop, 924 S. Perry St. That market is to open June 3.
