Boise-based dealership to buy Spokane Motor Cars

The Spokesman-Review
A Boise-based auto dealership is buying Spokane Motor Cars, the area’s exclusive Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo dealer. Lyle Pearson Auto Group said Thursday it expects to close today on a purchase agreement with Ford Motor Co. for the dealership at 1310 West 3rd Ave. Details of the agreement were not disclosed. Lyle Pearson, which is family-owned and operated, has sold and serviced luxury cars more than 40 years. Lyle Pearson President Jim Cross and will run the dealership along with Brian Cueny, the manager in Spokane. Spokane Motor Cars Inc. bought the assets of the Jaguar Land Rover Spokane and Lithia Volvo dealerships six years ago, with Jan Richardson as owner. Citing losses rendering the dealer’s common stock valueless, Ford terminated Richardson as operator of the downtown dealership in recent months.
