Spielberg-Abrams’ ‘Super 8’ introduced to ‘Iron Man’ fans

Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams are collaborating on a new project – and “Iron Man 2” audiences are getting the first look at it.

A teaser trailer for “Super 8,” due in theaters next summer, is showing before this weekend’s screenings of “Iron Man 2.”

Abrams (“Star Trek”) wrote the screenplay and will direct. Spielberg is producing.

A Paramount spokeswoman would only say the movie is inspired by films Abrams “loved and admired as a teenager.”

Batman returns

A sequel to “The Dark Knight” will swoop into theaters in 2012.

Warner Bros. has scheduled July 20, 2012, as the release date for the next installment of the Batman film franchise. No other details about the film were announced.
