Gregorak may face charges

BOULDER, Colo. – A football coach from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas who used to work with the University of Montana team was arrested in Colorado for allegedly breaking into a bar bouncer’s car and taking a handgun and a wallet.

The bouncer told Boulder police his items were taken early Saturday, hours after he refused to allow 31-year-old Ty Gregorak (West Valley High) to enter a bar the night before because he appeared too intoxicated. The bouncer told police Gregorak later went to his home to apologize and return his .45-caliber Glock 36 handgun and wallet.

“I was really drunk, I’m from out of town, I’m just here visiting friends, I’m a professional, I don’t do this kind of stuff,” Gregorak said, according to the police report. Police said Gregorak believes he was drugged and doesn’t remember the bouncer or entering his car.

Gregorak surrendered to police Tuesday and was released on bond. He is expected in court Thursday and prosecutors could file charges then.

Gregorak played linebacker for the University of Colorado in 1997-99.
