Hydrogen holds promise

I am not an environmentalist. However, the recent oil spill might cause us to take another look at clean, available hydrogen fuel. The National Hydrogen Conference and Expo was held this month in Long Beach, Calif. Hydrogen electrolyzers were on display, which produce hydrogen – from water. A basic element, hydrogen requires no further refinement. New compressor technology was to be unveiled, also, as well as an airtight hydrogen fueling nozzle. Several hydrogen vehicles were to be on site for test drives.

The technology is real, and it’s here. I’m hoping others will get involved and become knowledgeable. We can break our dependence on oil, both foreign and domestic. Those who are environmentally concerned should embrace clean hydrogen technology also. Learn more at www.hydrogenconference.org or by computer search of the National Hydrogen Association.
