Democrats have selected Andy Billig, who is club president of the Spokane Indians, to serve as the nominee for state representative from the 3rd Legislative District.
The seat is being vacated by incumbent Alex Wood.
“I am honored to receive the nomination,” Billig said in a news release.
“I will continue to work hard as a candidate and as a legislator to deliver results for the citizens of the 3rd District in keeping with our shared Democratic values and the priorities of families across Spokane.”
The vote was held this week by 3rd District Precinct Committee officers.
The primary election, which determines the two candidates for the general election regardless of party affiliation, is on Aug. 17.
