Family traditions at risk

The Spokesman-Review

Priest Lake cabin owners are up in arms at the thought of their annual leases being raised up to $25,000 more per year. Many Spokane residents own cabins at Priest Lake on leased land, and if the leases go up that much, most owners will be forced to sell and the value of the cabins will be next to nothing.

Our best family memories have been at Priest Lake, and it will break my heart to see our family lose their cabin if this happens. The state of Idaho is trying to collect more money for their public school system, but is it really fair at the expense of these people’s hard work and money they have invested into their cabins?
