Scout centennial event planned

Current and former members of the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary with a Centennial Camporee, Friday through Sunday at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. Events that will be open to the public include a speech at 8 p.m. Friday by Ed Harrell, a U.S. Marine who survived the sinking of the USS Indianapolis during World War II. Harrell’s presentation is free for veterans and $5 for others. Saturday’s events include a show at 7 p.m. by magician Giovanni Livera; admission is $15 for adults and is free for children ages 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased at www.northwestscouts.org.
