Sleepy driver crashes into red-light camera

The Spokesman-Review
A driver crashed into a red-light camera at Division Street and Sprague Avenue in Spokane after falling asleep this morning. The 6:14 a.m. crash blocked two lanes of the four-lane, northbound Division. Crews still were on scene at 8:10 a.m. The camera, which has been photographing red-light runners at the intersection since March 1, should be replaced next week, said Spokane police Officer Teresa Fuller. The man, whose name has not been released,”said that he has been working long hours,” Fuller said. He was driving a Ford pickup with a trailer when he drove onto the sidewalk. He was cited for negligent driving.
