Sheriff is a solid leader
I work with the Department of Emergency Management. Sheriff Knezovich is the director, and I have the great pleasure of working under his leadership. I found Mark Sterk articulating secondhand comments interesting and I would just like to share my experience as a direct employee of the sheriff.
When I began working with Sheriff Knezovich, the phrase I remember him saying is “boots on the ground.” I took this as him caring for his staff, and I have consistently and continuously seen this. With compassion, he sometimes makes those tough decisions because of his care and concern for others. The decisions may not be popular to all parties, but I have seen them as fair and just.
Sheriff Knezovich’s support and guidance does not stop at the initial phase of a project. This is a man that takes whatever he is working on to the next level by implementing and incorporating change to make Spokane a better place to live. He does hold people accountable to the tasks assigned so that change does become part of our future, but this is not without his support. I for one appreciate and support an honest, hard-working, public servant.
