A felon with a history of fleeing police is accused of ramming a couple’s car in Spokane Valley before briefly escaping inside an apartment.

Spokane Valley police reportedly found seven firearms in John K. Gooch’s truck after his arrest Friday.

Gooch, 33, appeared in Superior Court on Monday on six felony charges related to the incident, which began when a stolen Ford truck he was driving allegedly sideswiped a 2004 Toyota Camry occupied by Charles and Merleen Fox, who were trying to turn into a parking lot. The Foxes followed the truck from East Main Avenue and North Perrine Road to an apartment at 10321 E. Main Ave., where police arrested Gooch, according to court documents.

Police found a semi-automatic pistol in Gooch’s truck, along with a bag full of ammunition. A duffel bag with six rifles were in the back of the truck.
