Schweitzer to manage cabins

The Spokesman-Review

Schweitzer Mountain Resort will take over management of the six Bottle Bay Resort cabins on Lake Pend Oreille this summer, a news release from the Sandpoint ski area said.

A trial lease period allows Schweitzer to manage the cabins through Oct. 15. Schweitzer has operated Bottle Bay’s restaurant, convenience store and fuel dock for the past two years, the release said.

Schweitzer began operating the commercial operation because it was seeking ways to generate revenue year-round and also to retain some of the food and beverage workers employed during the winter, said Sean Briggs, marketing coordinator.

The cabins sleep up to five people and rentals start at $129 per night. The restaurant opens for the summer on Friday and will operate Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
