Loon Lake crash leads to negligent driving charge
Police cited a woman for negligent driving after she was involved in a crash that injured four people at Loon Lake on Sunday.
Shawna M. Everitt, 35, of Springdale, was headed east at 4 p.m. on state Highway 292 when she allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign where the roadway meets U.S. Highway 395 at Loon Lake, according to Washington State Patrol troopers.
Her 1989 Chevrolet Corsica collided with a northbound 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Neil M. Geer, 80, of Colville.
Geer and a passenger, Charlotte Zezinka, 71, were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center for injuries.
Two passengers with Everitt also went to Sacred Heart. They are Rachelle Tafoya, 15, and Samantha Nelson, 17.

That is a very, very dangerous intersection. 395 traffic is supposed to slow down through there, but most people still cruise at 70 mph. Sounds like this lady was at fault, though…
