Minnick concedes in Idaho congressional race

By The Spokesman-Review

Outgoing Congressman Walt Minnick issued a statement early this morning, saying, “It now appears that Raul Labrador will be the victor when all the votes are finally tallied. Therefore, early this morning I placed a call to Raul and wished him every success as Idaho’s next Congressman. I, in particular, hope he can be successful in working with the Administration and his colleagues of both parties in the exceedingly important task ahead of putting our country back to work and of balancing our nation’s budget.”

Meanwhile, the victorious Labrador issued a statement saying, “Everywhere I campaigned throughout the district people wanted someone to bring sanity back to Washington DC. Whether it was a coffee shop in Nampa or a small business in Coeur d’Alene the message was the same; our government is out of control. I have always put the voters of Idaho first and I’m humbled by the support we received. They have placed their trust in me. I will hit the ground running in Washington to restore their faith in Congress and start working to create jobs.”

I’m surprised with the outcome of this race. I didn’t think that Labrador had a chance, given his background as an immigration attorney. And given Minnick’s DINO voting record.

Goodbye DINO. Not sad to see him go, he was a shiny horrible example of a DINO.

Bizarre but no surprise. You can’t get much more republican than Minnick. Here in the United States of Amnesia, we vote based solely on the name of the party.

Well the Idaho Repubs want an out of the closet republican like Lapdog, Mimmick (a repub) wanted to stay in the closet of denial that he was actually a repub. Talkin’ like one, votin’ like one, walkin’ like one, well he’s gotta be a repub. The wimpy Idaho Democratic Committee insulted the real Democrats by thinkin’ we would vote for Walt again, well Walt, you know what they say about fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, well Walt, a lesson learned once is not forgotten, Vote for you twice, not in a million years.

Did we count Labrador in the Republican tidal wave?

    Sorry, I’ve lost count.

Frankly I had little doubt Labrador would win. Why settle for a conservative Dem (fiscally - sort of but not socially conservative), when you can vote for a true conservative?

I also think it is interesting the “redneck 1st congressional district of Idaho” elected a Puerto Rican Hispanic. We’re such a bunch of racists after all.
