Energy fair will offer tips for customers, job seekers, more

Area residents can get tips on how to cut power costs this winter at the Avista Energy Fair on Saturday. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spokane Community College Lair Student Center, 1810 N. Greene St. Demonstrations include installing rope caulking, window plastic and door sweeps to prevent heat loss. Free samples are available. Information about billing assistance will also be provided. A variety of community organizations will also attend to give out information about job search assistance, weatherization programs, housing and child care assistance.
