Jayne Singleton, director of the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum, greets students during their visit Oct. 22. During field trips, schoolchildren experience the Valley’s past in exhibits like “Under One Sky” that highlight events in Spokane Valley from 1800 to 1899.

The museum will honor West Valley High School for preserving the school’s arch before the original building was torn down in 1993.
