Street configuration won’t fix economy

Mr. Lynch seems to forget that unemployment has about doubled in the last four years (Letters, Valley Voice, Oct. 30). Could that have something to do with the empty businesses?

Kmart closed a store on two-way Sprague, as did Yokes, Albertsons and Liquidation World. Rosauers moved from the two-way to the one-way; in fact, expanded this past summer. The mall has even lost stores and it’s on a two-way street.

I guess it’s hard to understand why business is down.

If I want to stop and buy something on the way, to or from, Spokane I can do it. I don’t need a plugged up two-way Sprague Avenue to do it.
