Stay the course

As mentioned in the article posted to The Spokesman-Review on Oct. 31 by Mr. Bleck, Second Avenue is an area that needs vast repairs. Today, Second Avenue is being repaired with hopes to decrease traffic accidents, increase traffic flow accuracy, and continue drivers to use the downtown areas.

Second Avenue is a busy street that shouldn’t be packed due to bike lanes or narrowed streets. I drive Second Avenue every day to work. The street is a mess. There are construction workers, trucks and equipment everywhere. Second Avenue, with patience, will be a street we will all enjoy to drive.

The Second Avenue project will be completed in the spring. The only solution I see for the Second Avenue issue brought to the table is to allow the project to be completed. No extra costs need to be implemented as of right now. Adding bike lanes that are only going to be destroyed in the coming months is a waste of time and money. Spokane is hoping for a new look to Second Avenue. With the time and patience of us Spokane folks we will soon experience a noncongested, bump-free Second Avenue we will all appreciate.
