South Hill mom targeted in sex attack

Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman just after 6 this evening in Spokane’s South Hill neighborhood. A woman was pushing her small child in a stroller down Regal Street. As she neared 53rd Avenue, a male came out of the dark and threatened her before sexually assaulting her, police said. Spokane police responded and used a K9 to try to track the suspect but were unable to locate him. No arrests have been made. At this time, there is no description of the assailant other than he is a male, police spokeswoman Tracie Meidl said. Detectives with the Sexual Assault Unit are investigating the crime.
