Cardinals pummel SOCC

COOS BAY, Ore. – In its first wrestling match since taking it on the chin from nationally ranked Boise State on Nov. 6, North Idaho returned in force, throttling Southwestern Oregon Community College 40-3 on Friday.

Defending national placer Kyle McCrite (125-pound class) opened the match with a 14-5 major decision, starting a roll that would see the Cardinals lose just one match on the evening.

After Cameron Lloyd handed SOCC its lone win at 149 pounds, NIC rallied to win the six final matches, including freshman Jake Mason getting his first collegiate victory. Mason, a University grad, beat Caleb Pendleton 11-3 for a major decision.
