South Side stabbing suspect arrested

Spokane police early today arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a stabbing on Saturday morning near 10th Avenue and Maple Street.

Charles Price Dimit was arrested at a residence on South Wall Street where he had gone to hide out from police, officers said.

He was booked on charges of first-degree assault, domestic violence charges and three unrelated warrants.

Dimit initially refused to surrender to officers, but came out of the residence after police were preparing to send a canine team in to get him.

The stabbing incident early Saturday sent a 32-year-old man to the hospital with a wound to the abdomen, police said.
