A Gonzaga University student in her 20s was injured about 2:30 p.m. today after she was hit by a minivan while trying to cross Mission Avenue at Astor Street. The woman, whose name has not yet been released, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said. Police said she landed nearly 70 feet away from where she was hit. She was trying to cross the westbound lanes when the accident happened, police said. The car in the right lane stopped to let her cross; the green Chrysler minivan did not, and struck her. Police closed westbound Mission from Addison and Lidgerwood to investigate the scene. The roadway has been re-opened.
