In brief: Free meal Nov. 29 at Cheney United Church

CHENEY – Feed Cheney will provide a free, hot dinner on Nov. 29 at the Cheney United Church of Christ, 423 N. Sixth St., from 5 to 6 p.m. The dinner is open to the public and no qualifying paperwork is required.

Coats for all ages and sizes will be available during the dinner, along with groceries for those in need.

The monthly dinners are an outreach activity of the Cheney United Church of Christ, in partnership with the Women’s and Children’s Free Restaurant, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Eastern Washington University’s Lutheran Church.

Senior center plans Breakfast with Santa

LINCOLN HEIGHTS – The Southside Senior Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave., will kick off the holiday season with Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 4 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Santa Claus will be posing for photos while attendees enjoy breakfast, including pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children age 10 and under.

Christmas antiques, art show planned

MORAN PRAIRIE – The first Christmas Art and Antiques Show will be held at the Moran Prairie Grange, 6106 S. Palouse Highway, on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will include vendors selling unique holiday gifts, tasty sandwiches, homemade pies and espresso.

Proceeds will be donated to Free Rein, a therapeutic riding facility to enhance the physical, mental and emotional well being of individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities.

Admission is $3 for both days. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

Holiday bazaar Dec. 4 will feature Santa Claus

EMERSON/GARFIELD – Center Pointe, 1408 W. Washington St., will host a holiday bazaar on Dec. 4, beginning at 9 a.m. with breakfast with Santa Claus.

Breakfast is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and children. Photos are $5 each.

A craft sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. A rummage sale will also be a part of the day’s events; open until 3 p.m.
