Highway 95 reopened south of CdA

Highway 95 south of Coeur d’Alene has been reopened after being closed in both directions Friday while emergency crews responded to a two-car accident near Cougar Gulch Road. According to Idaho State Police, Angela Thompson, 32, was driving a Lincoln Towncar northbound on US 95 when she lost control of her vehicle and hit two other vehicles that were heading southbound. One, a Dodge Caliber, was driven by Patricia Kienow and the other, a Chevy Astro van, was driven by Katherine Wallace, 23. Kienow was taken to Kootenai Medical Center and has since been discharged. The road was closed for nearly two hours at milepost 427. The roadway was icy, a dispatcher said, and crews had to sand it and get the accident cleared before letting traffic resume. Thompson was cited for inattentive driving. All three drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
