Moscow falls to Lapwai at tourney

Katherine Samuels hit four 3-pointers and led with 22 points and Natahnee Spencer added 19 points as Lapwai (1-0) handed Moscow (1-2) a 77-58 loss in the opening round of the Inland Cellular Shootout Friday night in Lewiston.

Abi Quinnett had 22 to share game-high honors for the Bears, who trailed by just three at the half. Lapwai opened a 13-point lead at the end of the third quarter, outscoring the Bears 17-7 in the period.

Lewiston 59, Grangeville 44: The Bengals (1-0) beat the Bulldogs in the nightcap of the Inland Cellular Shootout in Lewiston.

Lakeside (Plummer) 43, Wallace 34: Tah-Wy-Ah Davis went 4 of 5 from the 3-point line and finished with 16 points to lead the Knights (1-1) to a win over the Miners (2-2) at the North Star Tournament in Clark Fork.

Clark Fork 41, Mullan 18: Tessa Vogel had nine points, 11 rebounds and six steals and Celeste Komanec added nine points with two assists as the Wampus Cats (1-0) shook some of the rust early to beat the Tigers (0-3) at the North Star Tournament in Clark Fork. CF scored just six points in the opening quarter but scored 30 in the next two frames.

Orofino 51, St. Maries 47: Alyssa Erlewine scored 13 points to lead the Maniacs to a nonleague win over the Lumberjacks (0-2) in Orofino. Dusti Huddleston had a game-high 21 points to lead the Lumberjacks.
