Letter: Zags don’t block out

Hmmm. Zags gave up 18 offensive rebounds against San Diego State?  I wonder why? 

The picture in the (Nov. 17) The Spokesman-Review sports section showing Elias Harris getting blocked out is the problem the Zags have every single year.

What San Diego State did, the Zags rarely, if ever do – block out.   Next time you watch the Zags play, see how they react when a shot goes up. What you won’t see is any of their players putting a body on the opponent. 

San Diego State simply ran around them and got in  position for the rebound time and time again.  High school kids block out better than the Zags. And this is every year.  

Coach Mark Few should cut this picture out and have his players see what blocking out is all about.  Basic basketball.
