Regina Road reopened at Division Street

Three people were taken to Providence Holy Family Hospital after they sustained injuries around 7:45 tonight in a two-car collision at Regina Road and Division Street, just north of Hawthorne Road. Carvelle Mewborn, 41, was turning onto Regina Road from southbound Division Street when he was broadsided in the northbound lane of Division by Virgil Griepp, 63, who was northbound on Division. Mewborn, Griepp and Griepp’s passenger, Sharon Griepp, 69, were all taken to Providence Holy Family Hospital. Their conditions are unknown, but the injuries do not appear to be serious, a Washington State Patrol dispatcher said. All three were wearing their seatbelts. The road was closed for nearly 2 hours while police worked to clear the accident and the Department of Transportation sanded the icy hill.
