Two killed in crash near Coeur d’Alene

Two people were killed and two injured around 4:30 p.m. Friday in a two-car collision on Highway 95 south of Coeur d’Alene, according to Idaho State Police. Kenneth Gollnick, 54, was driving a Pontiac GrandAm southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, went into the northbound lane, slid sideways and was t-boned by John Orvic, 52, who was northbound in a Chevy Trailblazer. Gollnick and his wife, Joy Gollnick, 48, were both killed. Their son, Daniel Gollnick, 16, was riding in the backseat when the accident occurred and was taken to Kootenai Medical Center for injuries he sustained in the accident. His condition is unknown. Orvic was also taken to Kootenai Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police say the roads were snow covered and Gollnick was driving too fast for conditions.
