Resident injured in house fire

A resident in the 500 block of East Princeton Avenue suffered minor burns in a Wednesday night house fire. The Spokane Fire Department responded to reports of smoke coming from the house at 11:25 p.m. The fire was contained to the room of origin, and about $10,000 worth of damage was reported. The burned individual, whose identity was not available, was treated by medics at the scene and later taken to a hospital by family members. The fire’s cause remains under investigation. Firefighters installed a working smoke detector at the home before they left.
