OPPORTUNITY – Ron’s Drive-Inn, 12502 E. Sprague Ave., will offer a free “57” combo to attendees who donate two personal care items to benefit Spokane Valley Partners on Friday and next Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The fundraiser is a great opportunity to enjoy a good meal and help people in the community during the holiday season.

Santa breakfast benefits community

MIRABEAU PARK – The Spokane Valley Rotary Club will have Breakfast with Santa next Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m. at CenterPlace in Mirabeau Park: 2426 N. Discovery Place.

Santa will join families for a pancake breakfast and holiday fun at 9:30 a.m., arriving on a Spokane Valley Fire Department truck. Children can have their picture taken with Santa and enjoy Christmas activities.

Tickets are $4 per person and may be purchased at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Spokane Valley Rotary fund to help support community projects including college scholarships, Rotary service projects and aid to the elderly.

The Rotary Club’s Celebration of Lights and Christmas tree lighting will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at University City.

STCU’s $1,000 helps charities

SPOKANE VALLEY – Spokane Teachers Credit Union will donate $1,000 to Spokane Valley Partners and to Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels for their generous service to thousands of Spokane Valley residents.

Every month, Meals on Wheels provides 6,000 hot, nutritious meals to seniors and disabled persons in Spokane Valley. They are delivered by 250 volunteers.

Spokane Valley Partners is a comprehensive source of social services, including food and clothing banks; emergency assistance with needs such as utilities, transportation and prescriptions; education and services for families and new mothers.
