One killed, one injured in industrial accident near Pullman

One man was killed and one seriously injured after a semi-tractor trailer they were working on fell off its hoist this afternoon near Pullman, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office. David E. Zorb, 33, of Pullman, was pronounced dead at the scene after the semi-tractor trailer he was working fell of its hoist and crushed him to death at the Shawnee Industrial Site on Whelan Road 1 mile north of Pullman, according to Sheriff Brett Myers. Travis B. Deerkop, 24, of Garfield, is in serious condition with head and chest injuries, Myers said in a news release. The sheriff’s office, Whitman County coroner and the Mine Safety and Health Association (MSHA) are investigating the accident.
