Blackhawks blast Stags

Deondre Moore-Young scored five touchdowns, three rushing and two receiving, and Cheney (2-2, 1-1) earned its first Great Northern League win Friday, beating Deer Park (4-1, 1-1) 48-7 in Cheney.

Moore-Young finished with 267 yards of total offense for the Blackhawks, who scored 41 points in the first half to hand the Stags their first loss of the season.

Clarkston 21, East Valley 6: Brady Arnone had 145 yards passing and a touchdown and Colby Hansen added 63 yards rushing with a score as the Bantams (4-1, 2-0) stayed unbeaten in league play, beating the Knights (1-4, 0-1) in Clarkston.

Lewiston 56, Sandpoint 21: Beau Kerns threw for 383 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Bengals (4-0) over the Bulldogs (2-3) in Sandpoint. Anthony Gold led the Bulldogs with 71 yards rushing and a kick return for a touchdown.

Intermountain

St. Maries 37, Kellogg 0: Jaden Guidry threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 71 yards and two more TDs as the Lumberjacks (3-3, 1-0) earned the win by holding the Wildcats (0-5, 0-1) to 81 yards of total offense in St. Maries.

Timberlake 42, Priest River 27: Christian Heth rushed for 164 yards and three TDs as the Tigers (1-4, 1-0) dominated the Spartans (1-5, 0-1) with their ground game to earn their first win in Spirit Lake.

Chewelah 20, Freeman 18: Derek Smith ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw for a third, tallying 259 total yards, and the Cougars (4-1, 2-0) stuffed the Scotties (3-2, 0-2) on their two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter to hold on and win in Freeman.

Colville 41, Lakeside (WA) 21: Blake Sjordal’s 134 yards and three touchdowns led the Indians (5-0, 2-0) to a win over the Eagles (2-3, 1-1) in Nine Mile Falls. Sawyer Bardwell added 160 yards and three scores through the air for Colville.

Riverside 49, Newport 0: Chase Florez rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns and the Rams (4-1, 2-1) forced six Grizzlies (0-4, 0-3) turnovers in Newport.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 45, Reardan 13: With both teams looking to seize control of the league in the early going, it was the Bulldogs (4-0, 3-0), behind 114 yards passing and a touchdown from Alex Teade, who took advantage, outscoring the Indians (3-1, 1-1) 35-0 in the opening half in Reardan.

Springdale 28, Davenport 14: Taylor Degraaf and Emmanuel Welch combined for 206 yards and a touchdown and the Chargers (1-4, 1-2) held the Gorillas (1-3, 0-3) to minus-6 yards of total offense in the second half in Springdale.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 31, Liberty 7: Micah Brown had 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns and Jake Eicher added a pair of passing TDs as the host Broncos (3-1, 2-0) held the Lancers (2-2, 1-2) scoreless through the first three quarters.

Northeast 1B North

Columbia-Inchelium 46, Northport 16: Tyler Zacherle had a passing and a rushing touchdown and Trevor Anderson added a pair of TDs as the Timberwolves (3-2, 2-1) scored 30 first-half points to bury the visiting Mustangs (0-4, 0-3).

Cusick 72, Curlew 24: Tyler Edwards did a little bit of everything, rushing for 34 yards and a touchdown, passing for two scores and adding two receptions for TDs in the Panthers’ (5-0, 3-0) win against the Cougars (2-2, 0-1) in Cusick. Edwards finished with 215 yards of total offense.

Northeast 1B South

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 49, Easton-Thorp 0: Derrick Isaak rushed for a touchdown and passed for another as seven Warriors (5-0, 1-0) scored touchdowns in their win against the visiting Jaguars (0-2, 0-2). The Warriors tallied 262 yards of offense in just three quarters.

Southeast 1B

LaCrosse-Washtucna 18, Colton 14: Jeff Zimmer caught a pass from Jake Aune in the fourth quarter to push the Tigercats (2-3, 1-1) over the visiting Wildcats (2-3, 1-1). Josh Straughan’s TD pass in the third had given the Wildcats a two-point lead.

St. John-Endicott 36, Touchet 18: Cole McKenna rushed for 228 yards and three TDs and the Eagles (3-1, 1-0) defeated the Indians (3-1, 1-1) in Touchet.

Nonleague

Coeur d’Alene 34, Rocky Mountain 22: Chad Chalich went 20 of 26 passing for 321 yards and three TDs and Zach Keiser added 139 yards rushing and three scores as the Vikings (4-1) knocked off the Grizzlies (4-1) in CdA. Jake Matheson had two key interceptions.

West Valley 35, Lakeland 21: Dylan Ellsworth carried the ball 16 times for 127 yards and three TDs and the Eagles (1-3) earned their first win by outscoring the Hawks (1-5) 21-7 in the third quarter at West Valley.

Ellsworth had two of his TDs come in the third quarter to give the Eagles a 14-point lead.

Pullman 37, Medical Lake 7: Tyler Langerveld completed 9 of 14 passes for 189 yards and two TDs and Pete Barner added 59 yards rushing and two scores as the Greyhounds (2-3) scored 37 straight points to beat the Cardinals (1-4) in Pullman.

Odessa-Harrington 50, Selkirk 6: Jared King passed for 220 yards and three TDs and the Titans (3-2) held the Rangers (2-3) scoreless after allowing an early touchdown in Selkirk.

Wilbur-Creston 40, Mansfield 6: Jacob Struve finished with 115 yards rushing and two TDs and the Wildcats (3-2) rolled over the visiting Kernels in the first of two meetings between the teams.

Wellpinit 52, Republic 16: Tom Boring had two rushing TDs and Eugene Gonzalez finished with 14 tackles for the Redskins (1-4), who earned their first win of the season against the Tigers (0-4) in Wellpinit.

Liberty Christian 44, Garfield-Palouse 18: Zach Simpkins had 246 yards rushing and two TDs as the Patriots beat the visiting Vikings (2-2) at Richland.

Oroville 31, Kettle Falls 13: The Hornets (3-1) beat the Bulldogs (1-4) in Oroville. No other information was available.
