Submit questions for Gonzaga, Whitworth presidents
Spokesman-Review staff members will be sitting down Tuesday with the new presidents of Whitworth University and Gonzaga University to talk about their visions for the future. We want to know what questions you’d ask them.
Beck Taylor started at Whitworth in July. Later that month, Gonzaga promoted Thayne McCulloh from interim president to president, making him the first non-Jesuit to lead the university.

For Beck Taylor:
In 2007-08, Whitworth’s Board of Trustees considered, but decided against, adding “sexual orientation” to its non-discrimination policy when the Anderson-Murray Anti-Discrimination Law passed. The law does not apply Whitworth because it is a religious non-profit, but now Whitworth’s protections against discrimination lag behind those of public universities in Washington. President Robinson and the board were unswayed by the fact that Whitworth’s affiliate church, the PCUSA, is officially in favor of including “sexual orientation” in non-discrimination policies.
Will you be active in protecting the gay and lesbian students, staff and faculty on your campus by leading an effort to add “sexual orientation” to Whitworth’s non-discrimination policy?
