More buses, more often

I’m not an accountant or a treasurer, and I have no firm ideas about the economics or budget of running the Spokane Transit Authority. But as a rider, I do believe that if I were charged with seeking ways to boost revenue, I would not be cutting stops. Instead I’d run triple-deckers and 50 stops. That’s because I believe service and largesse encourage revenue, not forcing the disabled and elderly out in the dead of winter hunting and pecking for a bus stop.

We riders of public transportation – the unsung heroes of less emissions and cleaner air – by rights should be picked up and delivered to our front door. Oh, and P.S.: We would not turn up our noses at a little red carpet action while you’re at it.

But in lieu of that, add back the stops.
