Awarded Atlanta ace Tim Hudson won the National League Comeback Player of the Year Award after leading the Braves to the wild card. Hudson had elbow ligament replacement surgery in 2008 and was limited to just seven starts last season. Francisco Liriano grabbed the American League comeback award with a consistent season that helped the Minnesota Twins win the Central Division. Liriano missed the entire 2007 season following Tommy John surgery and was limited by injuries each of the previous two years.

Suspended Baylor basketball indefinitely suspended leading scorer LaceDarius Dunn after he surrendered to Waco, Texas, police to face an aggravated assault charge accusing him of breaking his girlfriend’s jaw during an argument last week.
