Prep roundup: LC holds off Shadle in GSL football

Jeff Livingston completed 19 of 29 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns Thursday as Lewis and Clark held off Shadle Park 42-41 in Greater Spokane League football at Albi Stadium.

LC (3-3) took a 42-35 lead with 5 minutes left on Ammar Johnson’s 8-yard TD run.

Levi McBournie of the Highlanders (0-6) threw his third TD pass, a 16-yarder to David Brown, with 1 minute left. Shadle failed on the two-point conversion run and its ensuing onside kick was recovered by LC’s Dakota DuBois.

DuBois also had five receptions for 50 yards and TDs of 9 and 6 yards.

LC’s Matt Yadali had 10 receptions for 140 yards and TDs of 34 and 17 yards.

Shadle’s Danny Rowton finished with 10 carries for 91 yards.

North Star League: Nathan Cook rushed for three TDs and added a TD reception as visiting Wallace (6-0, 6-0) registered a 44-6 win over host Kootenai (4-3, 4-2) at Harrison.

Volleyball

5A Inland Empire League: Senior Savannah Blinn totaled 17 kills, five blocks and two aces as Lewiston (3-2) broke a second-place league tie with a 3-0 win over visiting Lake City (2-3).

Great Northern League: Aaliyah Ashley-Meek finished with 36 assists, 12 digs and four aces to carry West Valley (7-0) to a 3-1 win over visiting Cheney (2-5). WV’s Shaniqua Nilles added a match-high 15 kills. … Elsewhere, Jenny Nakata totaled nine kills, eight digs and five aces while guiding Pullman (6-1) to a 3-0 win at Deer Park. Kimmie Brazington had nine digs for the Stags (0-7). … Elsewhere, Alyssa Dorr had 15 assists and seven aces to lead East Valley (5-2) to a 3-0 win over visiting Medical Lake (1-6).

Intermountain League: Jen Munson had nine kills and two blocks as Timberlake (4-3) outlasted host Priest River 3-2. Melissa Trost had 18 kills and five aces for the Spartans (2-4).

Boys soccer

Inland Empire League: Chris Wheelock scored twice, including a shot from 25 yards out at the 17th minute, as Lake City (8-3-3, 3-2-1) defeated visiting Post Falls 4-0 in 5A play. The Trojans are 12-3-1, 4-2. … Adam Borsheim’s second goal, with 5 minutes left, lifted 5A Coeur d’Alene (10-3-2) past 4A Moscow (6-7-1) 4-3 at Moscow.

Girls soccer

5A Inland Empire League: Andrea Sayre scored from 25 yards out in the 29th minute as Lewiston (6-1-5, 3-1-2) won the league title with a 1-0 decision over visiting Lake City (5-5-3, 2-2-1). … Elsewhere, Post Falls (5-4-5, 2-2-2) and host Coeur d’Alene (5-6-2, 1-3-1) finished in a scoreless tie. CdA outshot PF 18-8.

Great Northern League: Brittany Mauro scored at 1 minute, and Hailee Gronenthal added a breakaway goal after a crossing pass from Sarah Marro as West Valley (4-5-1, 4-3) took a 2-0 win over visiting Cheney (4-7, 4-2). … Elsewhere, Amanda Bliesner scored the first goal and assisted on the second as East Valley (7-4, 5-1) posted a 3-0 win over visiting Medical Lake (2-8, 1-6). … Hannah Adams set up Becky Birchett for a goal with 40 seconds left as Pullman (8-1-1, 6-1) recorded a 1-0 win at Deer Park (3-5, 2-4).
