Three boys allegedly abducted by their father were found safe Thursday in a hotel in Butte with their father, 33-year-old Chad Phillips, police say.
The Montana State Department of Family Services placed an emergency hold on the children and took them into their custody.
They will be turned over to Child Protective Services in Spokane, which will complete the investigation into custodial matters.
A Superior Court awarded custody of the children to their mother Wednesday and Phillips, who was also present, took the children after the hearing, police said.
The children are Kaleb Phillips, 10, Dawson Phillips, 8, and Bishop Phillips, 6.
Spokane police detectives are in the process of seeking an arrest warrant against Phillips on charges of custodial interference.
