Eagles down Bantams

Krys Smith’s 1-yard touchdown run with 5:48 remaining lifted West Valley (2-3, 1-0) to a 10-7 victory over Great Northern League leader Clarkston (4-2, 2-1) Friday at WV.

The Eagles were led by Smith’s 84 yards rushing, tallying 161 yards on the ground. The defense held Clarkston to 20 yards rushing, containing the Bantams’ Colby Hansen to 52 yards on 15 carries.

Deer Park 28, East Valley 20: Jason Jorgensen rushed for a season-best 161 yards and two TDs, lifting the Stags (5-1, 2-1) to a win over the Knights (1-5, 0-2) at EV. Colton Mead added 80 yards passing and a rushing TD in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Stags.

IEL

Lake City 24, Lewiston 14: Allen Carmichael rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries and Mark Smyly added 81 yards and a TD as the Timberwolves (4-2, 2-0) upended the Bengals (4-2, 0-1) in Lewiston. After a 14-14 tie through three quarters, LC scored 10 consecutive points for the win.

Post Falls 49, Sandpoint 7: Tyson Johnson finished with a rushing and a receiving touchdown, tallying 150 all-purpose yards, and the 5A Trojans (5-1) held the 4A Bulldogs (2-4) without a point through three quarters in Sandpoint.

Intermountain

Timberlake 49, St. Maries 28: Christian Heth rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries to push the Tigers (2-4, 2-0) past the Lumberjacks (3-4, 1-1) in St. Maries. The Tigers have won their first two IML games after starting the season 0-4.

Northeast A

Freeman 13, Newport 9: Sophomore quarterback Wyatt Smith, who saw his first action of the season last week against Chewelah, led the Scotties (4-2, 1-2) to victory over the Grizzlies (0-5, 0-4), passing for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Colville 27, Riverside 7: Sawyer Bardwell passed for 141 yards and a touchdown and Blake Sjordal contributed 69 yards and a score on the ground as the Indians (6-0, 3-0) beat the visiting Rams (4-2, 2-2) to remain undefeated.

Northeast 2B

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 14, Kettle Falls 0: Jake Eichner rushed for 49 yards and a TD and passed for another score as the Broncos (4-1, 3-0) blanked the Bulldogs (1-5, 1-2) in Kettle Falls. Micah Brown had 125 yards rushing for the Broncos.

Liberty 27, Davenport 16: George Canning rushed for three touchdowns and the Lancers (3-2, 2-2) scored 20 points in the second half to give them a win over the Gorillas (1-4, 0-4) in Davenport.

Springdale 46, Reardan 6: Taylor Degraff and Connor Parker rushed for a combined 246 yards and each added a pair of touchdowns as the Chargers (2-4, 2-2) stunned the Indians (3-2, 1-2) in Springdale. The Indians managed just one scoring drive in the game after suffering their first loss last week against Colfax.

Northeast 1B North

Wellpinit 42, Curlew 16: Greg Wynecoop rushed five times for 90 yards and finished with three total touchdowns and the Redskins (2-4, 1-1) held the Cougars (2-3, 0-2) scoreless until the fourth quarter in Curlew. Chris Mullen had 100 yards rushing and a TD for the Cougars.

Cusick 58, Selkirk 12: Ryan Sample passed for 281 yards and eight touchdowns as the league-leading Panthers (6-0, 4-0) cruised to a win against the Rangers (2-4, 1-1) in three quarters in Ione. The Panthers’ Tyler Edwards added two receiving TDs, believed to tie him for the state record for 8-man football with 40 career TD receptions.

Northeast 1B South

Odessa-Harrington 52, Mansfield 14: Jared King rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns and added another TD pass as the Titans (4-2, 1-0) opened a 30-0 lead at halftime to beat the visiting Kernels (1-3, 0-2). Cade Weber added 108 yards receiving and a TD for the Titans.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 48, Wilbur-Creston 22: Derek Isaak’s three touchdowns and 161 all-purpose yards led the Warriors (6-0, 2-0) to a win over the host Wildcats (3-3, 1-1). Hayden Herdrick had 178 yards rushing and two TDs for Wilbur-Creston.

Southeast 2B

DeSales 41, Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia 14: Jeremiah Cox completed 17 of 22 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns and the visiting Irish (3-2, 1-1) cruised to a win over the Nighthawks (2-3, 0-2), taking a 21-7 lead at halftime.

St. John-Endicott 42, Garfield-Palouse 28: The visiting Eagles (4-1, 2-0) beat the Vikings (2-3, 1-1). Pomeroy 70, LaCrosse-Washtucna 50: Tory Knebel tallied seven touchdowns and the Pirates (3-3, 2-1) beat the Tigercats (2-4, 1-2) in Pomeroy.

Colton 34, Touchet 16: The Wildcats (3-3, 2-1) beat the Indians (3-2, 1-2) in Colton.

Nonleague

Coeur d’Alene 37, Vallivue 20: Chad Chalich threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-27 passing and rushed for another TD as the Vikings (5-1) used 31 first-half points to cruise to a win over the Falcons (5-1) in Caldwell. Chalich hit Drew Turbin for 179 yards and a score.

Medical Lake 42, McLoughlin (Ore.) 13: Tim Haynes scored the first two rushing touchdowns for the Cardinals (2-4), jump-starting the offense for 42 consecutive points in their win over the Pioneers (3-2) in ML.

Chewelah 28, Priest River 21: Derek Smith ran the ball 24 times for 192 yards and three TDs and Calvin Connall added 118 yards rushing and a score as the Cougars (5-1) edged the Spartans (1-5) in Chewelah. Eric Holbrook had three TDs for the Spartans.

Colfax 27, Lakeside 0: Tyler McNanny rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns and kicked a pair of field goals to lead the Bulldogs (5-0) over the Eagles (3-3) in Colfax. Alex Teade added 127 yards passing and 73 yards rushing with a TD for the Bulldogs.

Lakeland 49, Pullman 27: The Hawks (2-6) beat the Greyhounds (2-4) in Rathdrum.
