Post Falls crash victim dies on way to hospital

A Post Falls man died Saturday while being transported to Kootenai Medical Center following a collision at McGuire Road and West Prairie Avenue.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department responded about 2 p.m. Saturday to that location, where 87-year-old Robert Lee Hartley was severely injured after his wife, Virginia Hartley, pulled out from a stop sign on Prairie Avenue into the path of 81-year-old Robert Cody, of Bayview, who was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup.
Robert Hartley died while being transported to the hospital, according to a news release. Cody was not injured.
