Sheriff: Man assaulted girlfriend’s baby
A 5-month-old boy is in critical condition after his mother’s 21-year-old boyfriend assaulted him early today, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was rushed to Pullman Memorial Hospital after emergency crews found him unresponsive in a home in the 400 block of North Main Street in Albion, said Sheriff Brett Myers.
Nathan J. Cranfield was arrested on a first-degree assault charge. Investigators believe he shook the boy, who was reported not breathing about 2 a.m.
Cranfield is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
The boy, whose name has not been released, has been airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he remains in critical condition.

I just don’t understand the unleashed anger in these ‘babysitters’ nor the naïve trust of the parent.

I think it would be most helpful for (mostly) girls to learn this obviously critical lesson while still in high school, and have it drummed in ……
……. unless the P.C. police are around and don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Gah.

And you know Im not talking just to talk. I was a young mother and had very little family support until recently. But my son never once stayed with anyone that was not my family or his father. These girls need to learn to forge relationships with other women and creat a network. There are so many options out there other then your current boyfriend. just because a man tells you all the things you want to hear it doesnt mean you can trust them with your child. Your babies are your responsibility and no one elses.
