Man arrested for waving meat cleaver at Murray supporters
Police arrested a man around 5 p.m. Thursday outside KSPS studios after he drove by a group of Sen. Patty Murray supporters waving a meat cleaver.
Johnny J. Sieler, 50, first drove by the group with a knife, shouting profanities about Murray. He upgraded his weapon to a meat cleaver and drove by a second time, according to Spokane police.
As he drove by, he slowed his vehicle down and made chopping motions as he held the cleaver out his car windows. Some of the supporters felt so threatened they backed away from the suspect, police said.
Spokane police were on the scene when Sieler drove around the third time.
Officers stopped Sieler, who reached for the knives as they approached him. He was arrested for intimidation with a weapon and booked into Spokane County Jail. Officers found several knives in his car.
“The police were right on him,” said Dave Hawkins, who was waving signs for Sen. Murray.

Let me get this straight.
An idiot drove a 2000 pound car through the area once, with a knive on display. But they weren’t concerned about him till he drove the 2000 pound car through the area again, with a bigger kniife?
Did they consider moving out of the way of the 2000 pound car?
Why are they standing in traffic?

Chuck…liberals do that.:) And then complain about the results….and then spend money to study it…then build an agency to fund the prevention of it…and then find out prevention doesn’t work…so they build “counseling centers”…and then spend money on a new jail…finding out that they guy was just drunk…so they fund his rehab….etc etc…..you get the idea.

Cool, let’s look at the real issue. Rossi looked unprepared, the same way that he did against Gregoire in 2008. For at least two years his campaign has known that he’s not an effective debater—never has been—and yet they’ve obviously not put one iota of work into improving a glaring weakness.
If Dino Rossi is too arrogant to fix his own flaws, how can he fix our country?

As a former speech and debate major in college, I enjoy watching the political debates even though most are not really debates at all. Last night clearly went to Murray. She outlined her accomplishments and her offices current issues for the people of Washington. Rossi appeared to be searching for how to respond and repeatedly failed to address the question asked of him which Murray was quick to point out. Murray has been a good Senator for Washington (better than Cantwell). She sits on important committees and has the seniority and the skills to be effective for the people at home. Rossi kept insisting that the free markets are the way to go, yet it is the unregulated free markets that have given us the banking and health care crisis. He supports the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy that will add a trillion to the deficit while claiming to be fiscally conservative. He doesn’t seem to understand the conseqeunces of his own positions.

This infuriates me! Since when is it against the law to wave a cleaver or a knife? I know the politically correct were very upset when a baseball team’s fans made tomahawk chopping motions, but really…
If you outlaw waving meat cleavers, only outlaws will wave meat cleavers. How do we know that this man (and it was a man) is not a socialist member of the butcher’s union who was showing support for Stinky Facist Tennis Shoes Murray by waving the tool of his trade?
One thing for sure, he was no Beaver Cleaver. Funny, though there was an article on beavers in the paper this morning.

When I heard the news, I thought the cleaver waver was probably Dr. Sqawken. My hopes were dashed, however, when I went on the blogs this a.m. and saw that he had (already) flamed the thread.
