Van falls on two men working on it

Two men were injured in northeast Spokane on Tuesday morning when a vehicle they were working on dropped onto them, fire officials said. Spokane firefighters responded to a call at 10:50 a.m. at East Princeton Avenue and North Mayfair Street. The two men were transported to Spokane hospitals, one of them with apparent serious injuries, officials said. The men were attempting to change a tire on a minivan when the jack holding up the vehicle gave way, dropping the van onto both men, said Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. A passer-by spotted the men and worked quickly to free them about the same time that a nearby fire paramedic team arrived, Schaeffer said.
